What is Goth Fashion?

Goth Fashion is a style of clothing worn by Goths. It was originally created by people who were influenced by the music scene called industrial music. Industrial music is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) that began in the 1980s. It was heavily inspired by bands like Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten, Cabaret Voltaire, Coil, and Bauhaus. Gothic fashion is often associated with black clothing, dark makeup, heavy eyeliner, and spiked hair.

How Goth Fashion Started?

The term “goth” originated in the early 1980s. A group of teenagers in England started wearing clothes that they described as being “dark, spooky, and sexy.” These teens wore black clothing, dyed their hair jet-black, and sometimes wore make-up that resembled blood. Their hairstyles included spikes, mohawks, and dreadlocks. Some of these teens went to nightclubs where they danced to industrial music. Many of them dressed in black clothing and had long hair. In time, the word “goth” became synonymous with “industrial,” and the look came to be known as goth fashion.

In the 1990s, the term “goth” spread beyond England. By then, many young people in America and Canada were dressing in black clothing and sporting spiked hair. Today, the term “goths” refers to anyone who dresses in black clothing and wears dark makeup.

It is a type clothing worn by people who have identified themselves as being goths and wear dark colors. Dark Goth clothing is often associate with black, purple, and gray. Dark Goth clothing is usually wear by those who have embrace the lifestyle of a goths.

  1. Punk Goth

Punk Goth clothing is a type garment wear by people who have self-identified as being punk goths. These types garments are often associate with black, red, and orange. Punk Goth clothing is often wear in conjunction with punk music.

  1. Emo Goth

Emo Goth clothing is a type apparel wear by people who have embrace the lifestyle and culture of being a goth. These types garments are usually associate with black, purple and blue. Emo Goth clothing is often associate to emos.

  1. Scary Goth

Scary Goth clothing is a type attire wear by people who have choose to embrace the lifestyle of being a goth and have adopt the culture of scary characters. These types of clothing are often associate with black and green. Scary Goth clothing is often associate in Halloween costumes.

  1. Lolita Goth

Lolita Goth clothing is a type outfit wear by people who have decide to adopt the culture of being a goths and have embrace the lifestyle of lolita. These types of clothing may be associate with pink, purple, and yellow. Lolita Goth clothing is often associate as a costume for children.

Conclusion

However, some goth fashion choose to keep their appearance secret, while others flaunt their identity. A few goths even go so far as to tattoo their faces with tattoos, or cover their bodies entirely with body paint. Many goths prefer to live alone, away from mainstream society. They may avoid social situations, preferring to spend time at home listening to music, reading books, watching movies, or playing video games. Some goths work jobs they dislike, such as retail sales, fast food service, or manual labor.

Moreover, while some goths are introverts, others enjoy being around friends and family. Most goths do not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. However, some goths occasionally indulge in drugs, such as marijuana, ecstasy, or LSD. A number of goths have become successful musicians, actors, writers, and artists. Examples include Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor, Lady Gaga, and Johnny Depp.
