Ariel Nicholson was born on February 19th, 1986 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She began her acting career at age four in the television series, “The Adventures of Pete & Pete”. At age six she appeared in the film, “The Secret of Roan Inish”, and then went on to star in many other films including, “The Barbarian Invasions”, “The Day After Tomorrow”, and “The Last Airbender”. Her first major role came at age ten in the movie, “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement”. She played Mia Thermopolis, the daughter of Queen Clarisse Renaldi and Prince Stefan Mavrodi.

She continued to act in movies throughout high school and college, appearing in several independent films before landing a role in the 2007 Disney Channel Original Movie, “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert”.

Early Years

Ariel Nicholson was raised in Mahwah, New Jersey, where he was born. She told her parents she did not “belong as a boy” from a young age, and in the fifth grade she started using female pronouns and using Lupron to prevent the consequences of male puberty. At the time, she was also seeing a counsellor at the Ackerman Institute For the Family. She appeared in the Growing Up Trans PBS documentary while she transitioned in the eighth grade and discussed her choice to start taking estradiol then.

Education

While still in high school, DNA models discovered Nichols, who made her runway debut at Calvin Klein’s Spring/Summer 2018 show after being chosen by Raf Simons. Since then, she has appeared in the company’s commercial campaigns as well as in editorials for W and American Vogue’s spread on transgender kids. Mert & Marcus photographed Nicholson for the cover of Love magazine’s anniversary issue. With the intention of assisting transgender children and families, Ariel Nicholson volunteers for the Gender & Family Project. She played the lead character, Kira, a young woman who travels back in time to save her father. She then starred in two 2013 movies; “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days” and “The Internship”. She played Detective Grace Billet, a tough cop who teams up with Bullock’s character to take down a drug lord. She then starred in 2014’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel” where she played Zero, a young concierge at the famous hotel.

Ariel Nicholson then starred in 2015’s “Central Intelligence” where she played CIA agent, Audrey Raines. She then starred in 2016’s “The Dark Tower” where she played the female lead, Susannah Dean. She then starred in 2017’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” where she played Michelle Jones, Peter Parker’s girlfriend. She then starred in 2018’s “Thor: Love and Thunder” where she played Valkyrie, Thor’s lover. She then starred in 2019’s “Captain Marvel” where she played Maria Rambeau, Captain Marvel’s mother.

Biography

As a high school sophomore, Raf Simons personally selected the transgender model to walk for Calvin Klein’s Spring/Summer 2018 show. Since then, the transgender model has been featured in Calvin Klein advertisements, editorial photos for American Vogue and W magazine, as well as walking for brands like Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu. Nicholson, who was raised in New Jersey, had always informed her parents that she did not fit in as a boy. She changed her pronouns in fifth grade and started taking the puberty-suppressing medication Lupron. Ariel Nicholson made an appearance in the PBS programme “Growing Up Trans” in the eighth grade and discussed her plan to start taking oestrogen with her therapist there.

Films

Ariel Nicholson starred alongside Hilary Duff and Ryan Merriman. She played Hannah Montana’s best friend, Lilly Truscott. She then landed a recurring role on the hit TV show, “Glee” playing Quinn Fabray. She had a small role in the 2009 comedy, “Get Him to the Greek”. In 2010, she starred in the romantic comedy, “Easy A”. She played Annie Edison, a popular girl who accidentally gets her friends expelled from their prestigious private school. She then starred in the 2011 horror-comedy, “Warm Bodies” where she played R, a zombie who falls in love with a human named Julie (played by Teresa Palmer).
