Bling on Your Big Day in Lab Created Diamonds

What is Lab-Created Diamonds?

Diamonds form naturally in the mantle, below the Earth’s crust Laboratory-grown diamonds (also known as man-made diamonds, engineered diamonds, cultured diamonds, and synthetic diamonds) are produced by simulating natural diamond formation in a laboratory. All of the carbon atoms in these synthetic diamonds are arranged in the same way as they are in real diamonds. Being synthetic versions of diamonds, they exhibit the same chemical and physical properties as their natural counterparts. The scale of colorlessness of our lab created diamonds is quite flexible. Fancy colors, such as the vibrant yellow that is so popular, are also possible in our laboratory-created diamonds but are quite rare in nature. When compared to the prices of natural colored diamonds, the prices of lab-created fancy colors are fairer.

How Are Lab-Created Diamonds Made?

In our diamond-growing facility, we start with small carbon seeds extracted from natural diamonds. To simulate the conditions under which a natural diamond forms, cutting-edge technology used either high temperatures and pressures or a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique. After growth, pressure and heat treatment may be applied to some synthetic diamonds formed through a deposition. Like in nature, fancy colored diamonds grown in a lab are formed when minute quantities of certain trace elements are present during the diamond’s development. It is possible that the precise composition of trace elements in white and fancy-colored man-manufactured diamonds varies from that of their natural diamond counterparts. Only with the use of sophisticated machinery that can detect minute variations in trace components and crystal development can a synthetic diamond be recognized from a real diamond.

Lab Grown Diamonds vs. Diamond Simulants:

The key difference between lab-grown diamonds and diamond imitations is that the former are created in a controlled environment. Cubic zirconia and moissanite are two examples of diamond simulants that appear like diamonds but are not. Because they lack the same chemical and physical qualities as actual diamonds, diamond simulants are sold at significantly reduced prices compared to lab-created diamonds. Natural and laboratory-grown diamonds can be told apart from their imitation counterparts with just the naked eye. Diamonds are single refractive, but moissanite is double refractive, therefore gemologists can tell them apart based on their refractive qualities. Take the time to compare the diamond to moissanite.

What Are the Benefits of Lab-Created Diamonds?

Lab-grown diamonds have the same authenticity as diamonds extracted from mines. They are created in identical circumstances to mined diamonds in terms of temperature and pressure but are free of the violence and dubious labor practices that plague some diamond mines. Diamonds made in a laboratory can actually be of higher quality than mined ones because of the stringent conditions and close supervision they are subjected to during production. Among the many benefits of a synthetic diamond are:

  • improved quality and greater clarity and purity make for a more attractive product.
  • fewer flaws
  • Safe for the environment
  • Lowered price tags
  • Artifacts that are one-of-a-kind and highly sought after can now be made in a wider range of colors than what can be found in nature.
  • Diamonds with a known provenance are from legitimate mines that don’t exploit their workers or local communities.

Growing lab-created diamonds by a sustainable approach employing chemical vapor deposition (CVD) makes it easier to meet demand without compromising quality or engaging in destructive operations or disputes.

How Do Experts Verify the Quality of Man-Made Diamonds?

Natural and synthetic diamonds are given the same value. After completion, they are forwarded to a third-party gem lab for certification. Similar to conventional diamonds, lab-created stones are evaluated based on their cut, clarity, carat, and color to get their final grade. The cut is the single most significant component since it determines the diamond’s sparkle and fire. The absence of blemishes or other flaws is what we mean when we talk about clarity. When referring to clear diamonds, the absence of color is taken into account to determine the quality level.

The diamond’s size and weight are quantified by its carat. Each diamond undergoes a meticulous inspection before being ranked in terms of quality. Diamond jewelry is a great choice for a treat for yourself or a loved one. Diamonds can be worn on a daily basis or saved for a particular occasion. If you want to buy something beautiful without sacrificing ethics or the environment, consider a lab-grown diamond.

Lab-grown diamonds with a sustainable rating are known as what?

It is with our collaborators that we are setting new benchmarks for the ethical and environmentally friendly manufacture of lab-grown diamonds. Enhancing an already ethical option, this set of lab-grown diamonds has been independently Sustainably Rated for their contributions to climate neutrality and investments in clean technology.
